150 g Chocolate dark or with milk, whatever you like best
70 ml Orange Juice
1 tbsp Orange zest
3 Egg
1 tbsp Cointreau optional

I know it sounds fancy and very delicate but in reality it’s just very easy and quick to make. With only 3 ingredients (4 if you like Cointreau) you can whip a very nice, rich and smooth mousse that seems prepared by a master of chocolate. Not that we are not masters in the cooking art, but sometimes it’s nice to receive a standing ovation for something that you put together in only 15 minutes. Yes, you did it agaaain!

And now just let me talk to you for a few seconds about this amazing chocolate that I discovered here in the Netherlands. It’s called Verkade and it comes in a lot of varieties, my choise for this mousse being the Verkade Puur, because of it’s very intense taste of rich texture. So if you can find in your supermaket try it for once and I promise that you will fall in love with it.

Melt the chocolate au bain marie. Let it cool off for 2-3 minutes


Separate the eggs. In a big and clean bowl whisk the egg white untill stiff and fluffy.


Add egg yolks into the melted chocolate and whisk. Add the juice, the zest and the Cointreau and mix until combined.


Grab a spatula and gently fold in the egg whites.


Using a spoon fill 4 ramekins and put it in the refrigerator for 2 hours.
