Probably the most expensive ice cream in the world
Summer is coming and one of the best desserts to have during hot, long and sunny days is… of course, an ice cream. With such a crazy amount of varieties these days it’s not easy to become loyal to one taste or one brand. I am one of those people who sometimes likes mint & chocolate, other times vanilla & fruit and I have a hard time picking up what I really want when it comes to ice cream. And probably the best one that I ever had was in Crete, in a small tourist town that sold more than 30 kinds and flavours. So, please imagine how hard it was to pick something. All in all, I love ice cream. I almost get addicted to it during summer and it’s very hard for Daniel to keep me away from it. Not because he wants to, but because I beg him to stop me from eating. Now it’s even more dangerous since I discovered that I can make my own, in a very easy way, with real fruit and yogurt and it tastes as good as the one that I take from the supermarket. Because, of course, I can also save up some money by doing this. But not everyone is like me.
The Black Diamond Ice Cream, Exotic Madagascar Vanilla flavoured with one of worlds most expensive saffron, black truffles & served with 23k edible gold dust in a Versace Bowl. There are some people out there who love ice cream just as much as I do but don’t think about keeping the money in the pockets. In fact, they are willing to pay $817 for a scoop. Scoopi Cafe, a gourmet ice cream shop from Dubai, invented this dessert called The Black Diamond which is basically a scoop of Madagascar vanilla ice cream topped with Italian truffles, Iranian saffron and edible 23-karat gold flakes. It sounds amazing! But this is not all you get. The ice cream is served in a Versace bowl with a Versace spoon and everyone who orders the very expensive dessert can keep the dishes and cutlery as well. Check below how this vanilla icecream gets a very beautiful golden top and it’s getting ready to meat a very rich client.
Is it crazy? Maybe. Is it worth it? I can’t tell for sure, but vanilla, truffles and saffron sounds like a very interesting taste combination to me. How do you feel about it?
